Commander, Military Sealift Command
The Navy's Military Sealift Command provides ocean transportation for Department of Defense cargo to sustain US forces worldwide during peacetime and in war. More than 95 percent of all the equipment and supplies needed to sustain the US military are carried by sea. In addition to the command's transportation mission, MSC operates Combat Logistics Force ships that replenish and support the Navy fleet at sea as well as special mission ships that serve as at-sea platforms for various federal government agencies.
