Why would a native Roman swap the balmy air and hot-pink sunsets of his native city for the damp skies of London? Giancarlo Giammetti, who just finished decorating his new, Pop Art-packed home in Knightsbridge, has a lot of reasons, the most important being sleep. "London is the only place where I don't have to work," says Giammetti, Valentino's longtime business partner--and one of fashion's first moguls. "There's no office here, no nine-to-five. It's the first time in my life that I can sleep late, shop, work on the computer and take walks. I'm always amazed at how ugly London is from the sky and how beautiful it is from the street."
