Article: Bush drops Iraq sanctions; work with Spain.

WASHINGTON, May 07, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX)

President George W. Bush announced Wednesday both the removal of U.S. sanctions to allow certain equipment to be sent to Iraq to help in reconstruction and the relaxation of Treasury Department strictures to enable U.S. companies and citizens to conduct business that aids humanitarian efforts.

The announcement came after a meeting between Bush and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar -- who pledged that Spain would stand beside the United States and Britain in attempting to get the United Nations to lift its economic embargo on Iraq from June 3.
