Like "Kindergarten Cop" or "Three Men and a Baby," "Daddy Day Care" has a title that gives away its only joke.
Eddie Murphy plays a daddy, you see, and he runs a day care center, and "Daddy Day Care" congratulates this guy for his brave willingness to do something that movies usually relegate to colorless, supporting female characters: change diapers, distribute juice boxes, monitor naps (just to give you an idea how retro the mindset of "Daddy" is: Murphy's wife is a lawyer, and when she comes home from work, she still has to clean up after her husband and the dozen kids who have spent all day distributing peanut butter and Elmo ...
