Shares in Australia's Rural Press closed $A0.15 higher at $A5.70 on 8 May 2003. The shares rose to near all-time highs after the company's chairman, John B Fairfax, said the regional newspaper publisher is confident of delivering full-year profit growth, despite uncertain trading conditions in the second half of 2002-03 due to the drought in rural Australia.
