NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- IPC - The Hospitalist Company, has entered into an agreement with Samuel Merritt College in Oakland to function as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students enrolled in that school of nursing.
A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who combines a master's degree with specific training and licensing to medically manage patients in collaboration with a physician. There are currently about 8,400 nurse practitioners licensed in the State of California.
