Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) expects soon to receive the first KC-130J tanker aircraft, using an "analog" refueling pod until the planned computer-controlled pod capability can be achieved, Navy and industry officials have told Defense Daily.
"The production pod for the KC-130J will be a Sargent Fletcher Inc. (SFI) pod [currently in the Marine Corps fleet] with reliability and maintainability enhancements, an in-line pump to increase pod fuel flows without an internal tank installed in the tanker and a pod rapid ground refueling port," Capt.
