STAMFORD, Conn. -- STAMFORD, Conn., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Six more lawsuits against Purdue Pharma L.P., the Stamford, Connecticut-based distributor of Oxycontina (oxycodone HCl controlled-release) Tablets, have been dismissed. The lawsuits -- which were pending in state and federal courts in four different states -- had claimed that OxyContin was unsafe or defective; had been improperly marketed by Purdue; and had caused the plaintiffs serious physical injuries including addiction and death. Four of the cases ended within a 14-day period from April 28, 2003 to May 12, 2003. Two of the six cases had been filed as class actions. All ended without any settlement ...
