A DRUGS baron who ran a [pounds sterling]200million crack cocaine smuggling racket from behind the veneer of a successful company was beginning a 24-year jail term last night.

Gerald McLeish appeared to be a successful businessman reaping his just rewards for years of hard work.

As managing director of Augustus Services he had a team of sales staff, drivers and warehousemen to help import and distribute cheap car parts to the motor industry.

The 43-year- old looked to have tapped into a booming market and he drove a [pounds sterling]50,000 gold Lexus as a symbol of that success.
