BLUE RIVER - Sheldon boys golf coach Michael Gasper looked at the scoreboard that showed his Irish with a two-day total of 596.
"I'd cut off both arms to have that next week," he said.
That score would put the Irish in contention for the state title next week, but Tuesday it was enough for Sheldon to regain the Midwestern League district title at Tokatee Golf Club. The Irish finished four strokes ahead of runner-up South Eugene.
"We played solid all year," Gasper said. "This team has achieved what it should."
