One of the historic names in meat packing, IBP inc., will be turned out to pasture this summer as Tyson Foods Inc. announced last week that it has renamed its IBP inc. fresh meats division to Tyson Fresh Meats Inc.
Tyson Foods said the change became effective May 1 and said it will begin replacing the IBP logo, decals and plant signage on offices, plants, vehicles, stationery and uniforms early this summer.
The company said it will continue the IBP name on boxed beef and pork products "for a period of time." The company discontinued IBP's Thomas E. Wilson brand and started branding fresh meat with the Tyson Foods name last year (Feedstuffs, Sept. 2, ...
