Can the results of induction heat treating be accurately predicted by computer simulation as it is for many other manufacturing processes? The answer is yes! Induction heat treating is the most complicated method to simulate because of the large number of physical phenomena involved in the process, such as electromagnetic, thermal, cooling/quenching and structural, as well as mechanical if we want to predict stresses and distortion of a part after heat treatment.
