BEIJING, May 19 Asia Pulse - The growth of consumer spending in Beijing slowed down in April this year, according to the municipal statistics bureau.

The latest statistics showed that consumer spending per capita in Beijing averaged 801.3 yuan (US$96.81) in April, a year-on-year rise of 3.4 per cent, compared with a growth rate of 15 per cent a year earlier.

Consumer spending in transportation, education and entertainment considerably decreased in April, the statistics bureau said.

The percentage of consumer spending of residents' disposable income averaged 0.7342 in April, 0.043 points down.
