Firms that last week submitted bids for the Navy's Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program have drawn upon international partnerships and advanced hull form designs using composites and aluminum in the competition.
Lockheed Martin [LMT] Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems sector president Fred Moosally said the LCS offers an opportunity for systems integration teams to play a central role in shipbuilding.
