Austrian insurer Uniqa secures top-four Polish insurance market rank by buying Filar
Warsaw. May 27. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Austrian insurer Uniqa has purchased a 90% stake in Polish insurer Filar from Germany's R+V Allgemeine Versicherung, thereby placing itself among Poland's four-biggest insurers, Uniqa said in a statement.
"Uniqa Group Austria along with German insurer R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG have completed a deal concerning the takeover by Uniqa of R+V's shares in Polish and Slovakian companies. After receiving all necessary permissions, Uniqa will become the owner of a 90% stake in Filar SA," the company said.
