It was peacocks one, animal control officer zero, as Terri Baker folded her blue string net and headed for her animal control van.
"I'll be back," she said.
Her quarry, safe on a convenient rooftop Tuesday, stretched their cobalt blue necks, nodded their delicately crested heads in the sun and called a piercing "Aaa-roooo, Aaa-roooo."
The two wild peacocks might think they're safe on the roof, but it's Baker who could be their salvation. That's because someone in the pastoral Fort Thomas, Ky., neighborhood the peacocks call home is a potential peacock killer.
