HELENIUM ``MARDI GRAS'' is a new perennial with multicolored blooms that last six to eight weeks in summer, beginning in late June. Yellow petals are splashed with orange. A massed planting will form shrubby bushes 36 inches tall in two years. It needs full sun and well-drained soil. Available at McDonald Garden Centers.
