Brazilian companies are investing in ventures following the CDM (clean development mechanism) of the Kyoto Protocol. There are several projects involving biogas as input to generate power and one of the main projects is of Qualix Servicos Ambientais. The company manages the main disposal site in Latin America, Sao Joao, in Sao Paulo, where R$20mil will be invested to generate 20 MW. The power will be enough to supply a 150,000-inhabitants city.
