After having contracted with Siemens for its network infrastructure, and Hewlett-Packard for its technology platform, Colombia Movil, the country's newest PCS cell phone company, is getting ready to buy transmission equipment and phones. The president of the company, Mr. Mauricio Mesa, says that Colombia Movil has invested US$115mil of the US$550mil it intends to invest in the first three years of its operation.
