HARRISBURG - A hearings official has sided with the city in its firing of a utility worker who said the termination was in retaliation for his blowing the whistle on the city's poor water-treatment practices.
Scott Bedacht was fired May 5 by the city for insubordination, poor work performance and unauthorized possession of city money.
Neither the hearings official, Corvallis attorney George Heilig, nor the city would release a report on the findings Wednesday, citing employee confidentiality.
"The opinion speaks for itself," city attorney Andrew Noonan said.
