Euro 9 million is slated for economic development in northern Cyprus. Deployed with the co-operation of the UN, the sum of money will be used to lend support to infrastructure projects in the main cities (Nicosia, Famagousta, Kyrenia) focused primarily on drinking water, irrigation, waste water, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and feasibility studies to prepare for northern Cyprus' incorporation into the EU, once a political solution has been found to the island's divided status.
