In the last Manager's VPOINT (www.cadenceweb.com/2003/0503/vpoint0503.html), I began a tour of CAD-manager-friendly features in AutoCAD 2004. This month, I'll finish off the discussion by concentrating on some of the new automated features added to the AutoCAD status bar, as shown in Figure 1. These features allow AutoCAD to take a proactive approach to notify the users about CAD standards, xref management, and available patches. As I outline the features, I'll concentrate on changes that are unique to AutoCAD 2004 and how CAD managers can take advantage of these changes. Here goes.
