If you've ever considered venturing into fountain repair and maintenance, your pool and spa background will be an excellent foundation. But there are some differences. Here are five tips to help you get started:
1 Know thy fountain. Fountains may be a combination of concrete, aluminum, stainless steel, tile, grout, paint, rock, etc. Knowing what the fountain is made of helps you decide how best to work with the water.
Bare concrete with some rocks can leach alkalies, calcium and other compounds when exposed to water and can leave unsightly deposits. Sequestering agents will help keep these minerals in solution, while clarifiers and filter aids can help ...
