Article: JAPAN'S SHIMANO TO MAKE FISHING RODS IN CHINA.

OSAKA, June 4 Asia Pulse - Shimano Inc. (TSE:7309) plans to start producing fishing rods in China and is constructing a new 6,840 sq. meter plant at its bicycle parts complex in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province.

The factory is slated to be placed into service in October, and by next year will hire 200 local workers. This will be the company's first fishing rod production site in China.

For the time being, the new facility will primarily produce inexpensive products for the Japanese market, but in a few years could also begin manufacturing high-end fishing ...
