Australian supermarket chain Coles Myer will acquire 584 Shell fuel petrol sites for $A100 million. The company plans to replicate the success of its rival, Woolworths, and to sell discount petrol to customers who shop in Coles Myer's supermarkets. The first stage of the scheme will be launched in Victoria in July 2003, with the opening of 150 petrol station sites. The sites will operate under the dual branding of Shell and Coles Express.
