Jun. 6--Sutter County's ambitious plan to turn 3,500 acres of rice fields just north of the Sacramento County line into a bustling industrial park was tossed out this week in Sutter Superior Court.
Judge H. Ted Hanson ruled that the county failed to follow California planning law. It neglected, for instance, to identify a specific location for a 100-acre sewage storage pond included in the plan.
Hanson's ruling, issued Tuesday, also said the county wrongly neglected to analyze the environmental impacts of its plan to dispose of sewage from the project ...
