In his plain black T-shirt and jeans, Dave Grohl recalled playing with his hard-core punk band, circa 1987, at the University of Colorado. ``Not only did I do too many mushrooms,'' he said, ``but there was a skinhead riot in the arcade connected to the ballroom.''
You know what they say about humble beginnings. Grohl was probably talking about Scream, the band he drummed in before his next project took off. That band, Nirvana, turned Grohl into an unlikely rock star - and exposed his considerable talents to the world.
