Regularly scheduled maintenance throughout the lifetime of a Class VII or Class VIII truck can keep it running well past the 500,000-mile marker. And preventive maintenance is always inexpensive compared to the consequences of waiting until something goes wrong. The National Automotive Radiator Service Association (NARSA) recommends a cooling system check at predetermined intervals to keep fleets running in tiptop shape. As fleet managers, so many times we perform standard regular checks of a truck's tires, or change the oil at predetermined intervals. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the vehicle's cooling system.
