Budapest. June 6. INTERFAX-EUROPE - FOREIGN MINISTRY PROTESTS CROATIAN BAN ON HUNGARIAN BEEF. Hungary is protesting Croatia's banning of the import of livestock and meat from Hungary as an attempt to prevent the spreading of BSE. Croatia's move is unfounded, and counter to international practices and norms, according to the Hungarian foreign ministry. Hungary is demanding the immediate repeal of the measures, otherwise it has threatened to implement countermeasures. (Nepszabadsag, p. 17)
