I live in a neighborhood that's filled with the drone of mowers on Sunday mornings as the grass worshipers work on their lawns. Grass still is the No. 1 groundcover as far as my eye can see - but not at my house.
I decided to give in gracefully when I realized there was as much moss in my lawn as there was grass. Moss likes everything that grass dislikes: soil that is sticky clay, acid-rich, and compacted - to say nothing of shade and bad drainage.
