We are constantly being told that the problems of Africa are monstrously complex and - it is hinted - insoluble. But there is at least one area where they are not. There is a simple, positive step that we in the developed world can take that many experts believe would almost end abject poverty in Africa in a matter of years.
(In case that sounds a little dry, bear in mind that we are talking about 1 billion people living on less than 60 pounds a day (about $98), 50 million people hungry right now and 40,000 children at risk of starvation.)
