THE Chinese authorities are this week expected to unveil a range of measures to aid Hong Kong's battered economy as the former colony approaches its sixth anniversary under Beijing's rule.
The helping hand underlines the grim state of the territory - which has seen growth splutter and unemployment rise - even as China remains the region's most vibrant growth story.
The recent Sars crisis has also hit Hong Kong hard as travellers stayed away, retail sales faltered and restaurants struggled.
