Jun. 10--The Coastal Commission may ask the state to stop local coastal development unless San Luis Obispo County accepts 165 changes to its blueprint for development and resource management.
County officials oppose the new powers, saying that some of the changes proposed would be too costly and unworkable. At a meeting Thursday at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, the Coastal Commission will decide whether to send a strongly worded letter to the state Legislature, essentially putting the county on notice for failing to update its coastal planning rules, and ...
