Domco was founded in 1872 by 11 Canadian investors, whose first product was a floor covering made of painted jute fiber. In 1934, Domco acquired Barry & Stains Canada Ltd. and Congoleum Canada Ltd., forming Domco Industries Ltd. In 1991, Domco acquired Azrock Industries, a manufacturer of commercial vinyl tile. In 1994, Domco acquired National Floor Products Co. (Nafco), a manufacturer of wall base and luxury residential vinyl tile. In 1996, the company was renamed Domco Inc.
