WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. has removed from sale Shaw's 75% Lean Ground Beef that was processed and sold only in the Saugus Store, 400 Lynn Fells Pkwy, in Saugus, MA. The recalled product has the following sell-by-date on the package: 06-13-03. The product is being recalled because a Saugus Store associate found pieces of glass, metal and leather in the ground beef meat grinder. The Company has determined that only 16 packages of the 75% Lean Ground Beef were sold.
