Elk Grove Village officials will stage a near-boycott at the Northwest Municipal Conference banquet later this month.
After neighboring suburbs failed to take a stand against new legislation allowing Chicago to take property around O'Hare International Airport without getting consent first, officials say they don't believe it would be appropriate to sit at their table.
The quick-take condemnation powers Chicago gets with the new legislation will clear the city to take property in Elk Grove Village, Bensenville and Des Plaines.
Then, they will have to pay for it later.
