We usually don't think of water as a mechanical tool. No, it's more a benign, gentle servant that quietly cycles from tap to drain, acting as an endless medium for cooking, cleaning, heating and cooling. Not anything like a real tool that pierces, cuts, shaves or grinds, with hardened edges honed razor-sharp. However, remember that summer you belly-flopped while showing off in your neighbor's pool? Water didn't seem so gentle then--more like a slab of granite that grew harder the harder it was hit. In fact, it's this quality of water that makes it such a great tool for cleaning. The trick is to get it moving at a good clip--and that's where a pressure washer comes in.
