The Brazilian development bank BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social) has approved a R$12.55mil funding for the erection of the small hydroelectric power facility Rio Branco, with a capacity of 6,9 Mw, to be installed in Rondonia. The project, with total investments of R$19mil, also predicts the implementation of a transmission system with 94 Km extension. BNDES currently analyzes other ten projects for small hydroelectric facilities in different regions of Brazil - as the Fockink project (Mato Grosso) and Brascan Energetica (Parana).
