A building project that will give Lisle Township officials more elbow room is a step closer to breaking ground.

Township trustees this week agreed to seek construction bids for a new building at the north end of their property at 4721 Indiana Ave. in Lisle.

Township officials said Friday they hope to hire a builder and start construction in July. Work is expected to be finished by February.

Once built, the roughly 5,000-square-foot, one-story structure will house the general assistance and human services departments as well as the food pantry and supervisor's office.
