2003 JUN 18 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Once daily telithromycin treatment lasting 5 or 7 days in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), or 5 days in patients with acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis (AECB) - including patients with underlying conditions and elderly patients - was as active as commonly used antibiotics taken 2-3 times daily for 10 days.
These findings are drawn from two separate studies presented at the 2003 joint international conference of the American Lung Association and the American Thoracic Society (ALA-ATS).
