Article: MRI imaging technique visualizes lungs' response to drug.

2003 JUN 20 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique developed by Duke University Medical Center researchers enables them to visualize the lungs of live laboratory rats as the animals receive a drug, called methacholine, used to test for asthma.

The noninvasive imaging method enables scientists to observe as tiny airways in the lung respond to the medication, providing the researchers with more detailed information about lung function than can traditional diagnostic methods.
