A week after losing one of its most important members, Lincoln Center is scrambling to plan its future.
The New York Philharmonic's decision to merge with Carnegie Hall will leave the arts complex with a 2,800-seat hall, one that needs extensive renovations, to fill within two years. But Lincoln Center Inc., the umbrella group that oversees the complex's 11 arts institutions and also presents concerts itself, is taking on the burden.
Calls coming in
Financing renovation was once mostly the Philharmonic's responsibility, but now Lincoln Center will raise all of the money needed to build a new auditorium ...
