But one other tradition of French cinema, its tendency to enrich even the most lightweight entertainments with strong feeling and compelling character truths, salvages some of this formulaic effort. Unexciting as it ultimately is, ``Jet Lag'' still possesses more real insight into relationships than any dozen cutesy Hollywood love stories we've recently seen.
