The steady rise in the share price of Australia's Rural Press has been based on improving company results. Its interim result for December 2002 indicated a net profit of $A34m, up 24 per cent on the previous corresponding period, riding on a turnover increase of six per cent. It is likely the company will benefit from the amelioration or ending of the current Australian drought, as much of its publishing base is in rural Australia.
