A Western Australian (WA) police coronial investigator has found that a lack of resources at a major hospital led to the death of an elderly patient. In a report to the WA Coroner, Senior Constable Mary Whyte said that 72-year-old Giovanni Bertoncini did not receive the diagnostic scans he needed over the 2002 Christmas period, because of a lack of resources at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
