A motor racing trophy won by an MG racing team at Silverstone in 1950 has been found among the artefacts which have emerged in the company's centenary appeal, writes James O'Brien.
The trophy had been considered lost but the sharp eye of security officer Andy Poyner found it among items when the company announced its reconstruction of Lord Austin's office at Longbridge.
An appeal was launched for historical artefacts of significance, relevant to Longbridge, Austin, Rover or MG, to be loaned for display in the Longbridge Conference Centre.
