The National Center on Sleep Disorders Research (NCSDR), a branch of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), has launched a five-year, national educational campaign to address the importance of sufficient sleep for children. Aimed at parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals, the goal of the campaign, called "Sleep Well. Do Well." is to emphasize the fact that a child's health, performance (in school, extracurricular activities, and in relationships), and safety is directly proportional to the amount of sleep he or she gets.
