Local officials in Miami, FL recently reported that former area accountant Marc Harris, who renounced U.S. citizenship in 1990 after having his accounting license suspended for violative actions, has been charged with 19 counts of money laundering for allegedly aiding two convicted smugglers of the ozone-depleting refrigerant Freon.
Officials noted that the recent charges were laid against Harris by a federal judge in Miami after his capture by authorities in Managua, Nicaragua, where Harris had been living for "about a year."
