CHRISTIAN LACROIX COUTURE TO BE PRESENTED AT MARTHA'S
NEW YORK -- Christian Lacroix is shipping his couture collection to the U.S. for a formal presentation at Martha's Park Avenue salon next Tuesday.
Lacroix and other designers showed their couture collections last month in Paris, but most U.S. retailers and couture customers did not go due to the Gulf war and the threat of terrorism.
"The couture must be kept alive," said Lynn Manulis, president of Martha, Inc. "It is a source of creativity and ingenuity, and we definitely want to continue to support it."
Martha's is the only store in the country that sells couture.
