Jun. 15--Hollywood officials are scheduled to tackle the thorny issue of motorized watercraft, including Jet Skis, at Wednesday's City Commission meeting.
At issue is whether the watercraft will be allowed on the stretch of Hollywood beach in front of the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa.
The hotel has rented out nonmotorized boats such as windsurfers, paddleboats and kayaks on a temporary basis from Dec. 15, 2002, to May 1, 2003, said Jack Mathison, Hollywood's assistant director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts.
